About Us

In 1957 Mick Thomson opened Thomson's Suits Limited. The size of the shop being less than a quarter of what it is today. Mick's son Michael started in the store in 1967 and grandson Angus started in 1998 ensuring the Thomson tradition continues.

Thomson’s Suits reputation for excellence in service has spread far and wide, with loyal customers coming from all around New Zealand to experience the warm Thomson's Suits atmosphere.

The staff include Michael and Angus, following on in Mick’s footsteps. John Darrow, who had been with Thomson’s since early 1967 with 54 years of menswear knowledge, has sadly retired.   Bruce Giorgi started in 1987, Pam Thomson, Michael’s wife does a fantastic job dressing the windows and instore displays. Aaron Joyce has recently joined the team learning fast the fine art of menswear retail, and Nyla Daly is our office administrator.
