The Liberty Kaleidoscope collection takes us on the most vivid journey of all – through the rainbow, into a prismatic universe of colour.

Practical and emotive, subjective yet universal, the artistic application of colour has fascinated humanity for tens of thousands of years.

In this collection, the Liberty Fabrics designers explore the cultural, natural and historical components of different colours.

MIRO’S PARADISE

Tumble into a tropical paisley paradise, unfurling across a rich and fantastical landscape. Meticulously assembled from a number of tiny painted fragments discovered in the Liberty archive, Miro’s Paradise features glimpses of beautiful sea vistas – revealed through a spectacular display of lush, richly-saturated vegetation.

CORAL MEADOW

Botanical worlds collide within a richly saturated deep-sea garden. Its fantastical marine bouquets incorporate blooming tropical flowers juxtaposed against billowing seaweed fronds and bright, spiky coral.

PRISM PETAL

Created in the studio using shards of tissue paper, which were carefully overlaid to create a unique sense of tone and texture. This small geometric floral design is inspired by the rainbow that can be found when light refracts through a prism.

RAINBOW GARDEN

To celebrate the seven colours of the rainbow’s spectrum, this design places us within a medley of vibrantly hued florals. Drawn in pencil and outlined in fine liner, this garden of colourful blooms has tiny rainbows hidden amid the petals.

KALEIDOSCOPIC PAISLEY

This beautifully coloured and carefully reconstructed botanical paisley takes inspiration from Liberty’s archive collection of 19th century designs. Its floating garden is adorned with luxurious flowers, decorated leaves and feathery fronds.

HEDGEROW RAMBLE

Based on a Liberty woodblock print from the 1930s, this design spotlights the blackberries, dog roses and dense blossoms that can be found growing in English hedgerows - a symbol of the abundance and diversity of the natural world.

ARCHIVE SWATCH

Inspired by Liberty’s early Art Silks from the 1880s, this design captures a spectrum of hypnotic stripes and tactile textures. Its planes of colour explore spatial relationship through the illusion of optical vibrations. Cut on the bias, this design creates a twist on the diagonal striped tie.
